Easily replace the nut on your SodaStream machine with our quick and simple tutorial, using a replacement nut compatible with Jet, Spirit, Easy, Fizzi, Terra, Duo, Crystal 1.0 & 2.0 models.
Note
Difficulty: Easy
Duration: Less than 20 minutes
Diagnostic
-
Gas leaks: If you notice gas leaks while using your SodaStream machine, it may indicate a problem with the nut holding the gas bottle in place. A leak may manifest as a hissing sound or low gas level in the bottle despite recent use.
-
Gasification issues: If your SodaStream machine does not carbonate the water properly, it could be due to a poorly fitted nut. The carbonation process may be ineffective or nonexistent, indicating an issue worth checking.
Prerequisites
- A replacement nut
- Your SodaStream machine
Repairing the Nut of a SodaStream Machine
Step 1: Safety
Ensure your SodaStream machine is turned off and unplugged for safety reasons. If the machine has been recently used, allow it to cool down before starting.
Step 2: Remove the Rear Cover
Remove the rear cover of the machine to access the area where the gas bottle is located.
Step 3: Remove the Gas Bottle
Remove the gas bottle from the machine for easier access to the area where the nut needs to be replaced.
Step 4: Locate the Nut
Locate the nut to be replaced. It is usually found at the base of the gas bottle connection, holding it in place.
Step 5: Unscrew the Nut
Use a wrench to unscrew the worn nut. Turn the nut counterclockwise until it is fully detached. If the nut is difficult to remove, apply slight pressure, but be careful not to damage other components.
Step 6: Replace the Nut
Take the compatible RepairCoffee replacement nut and align it with the machine’s threading. Screw the nut in place by turning clockwise until it is securely tightened. Make sure it is correctly aligned and well-fastened.
Step 7: Reinsert the Gas Bottle
You can now place the gas bottle back into its original position, then replace the rear cover of your SodaStream.
Step 8: Verify Proper Functionality
Plug your SodaStream machine back in and test it by using the machine to ensure that the replacement nut works properly and securely holds the gas bottle.

Note
To determine which nut to use, compare it with the original one.
FAQ
As explained on the official SodaStream website, the warranty is only void in case of misuse, if you use non-SodaStream CO2 cylinders, or if you carbonate products other than water. Therefore, the warranty should still be valid, though we cannot guarantee it.
If you don’t know your SodaStream model, we invite you to refer to the information provided on the official SodaStream website.
Unfortunately, SodaStream does not provide replacement nuts, so you will need to find non-branded alternatives. We recommend buying from our Amazon store.
