[Tutorial] Repairing the Push Button of a SodaStream
Note
Difficulty: Easy
Duration: Less than 15 minutes
Diagnostic
-
Unable to use the machine: If you find that your SodaStream machine does not respond when you press the button, it could be due to a damaged push button. A damaged button can prevent the machine from activating, making it impossible to use its features.
-
Poor carbonation: If your SodaStream machine does not carbonate the water properly, a defective push button could be the cause. A damaged button might not allow proper CO2 distribution, leading to ineffective or nonexistent carbonation.
Prerequisites
- A RepairCoffee replacement push button
- Your SodaStream machine
Repairing the Push Button of a SodaStream
Step 1: Safety
Start by turning off and unplugging your SodaStream machine for safety reasons. Make sure the device is completely stopped before beginning.
Step 2: Remove the Rear Cover
Remove the rear cover of the machine to access the area where the gas bottle is located. You should see the back of the push button to be replaced.

Attention
A spring may be present underneath the push button; if so, you’ll need to reposition it the same way after replacing the push button.

Insert the new RepairCoffee push button. You can then reattach the rear cover.
Step 5: Verify Proper Functionality
Before reconnecting and using your SodaStream, press the push button and check if the mechanism works correctly.
Compatibility
The replacement push button is compatible with the following SodaStream machine models:
- SodaStream Fizzi
- SodaStream Easy
- SodaStream Spirit
FAQ
As explained on the official SodaStream website, the warranty is only void in case of misuse, if you use non-SodaStream CO2 cylinders, or if you carbonate products other than water. Therefore, the warranty should still be valid, though we cannot guarantee it.
If you don’t know your SodaStream model, we invite you to refer to the information provided on the official SodaStream website.
Unfortunately, SodaStream does not provide replacement push buttons, so you will need to find non-branded alternatives. We recommend buying from our Amazon store.
